A confirmed "accept / attending" RSVP is required for entry. There will be a strict guest list at check in, and any names who have not officially RSVP'd by 7/1/24 will be turned away.
Our guest count is limited, so we kindly ask if you are unable to join us, to please RSVP "decline" so that we may offer your seat to another loved one.
If for any reason your RSVP needs to change after you've already confirmed "attending", please let us know as soon as possible, and update your RSVP to "declined" so that we can plan accordingly.
With our venue's size limitations, our guest count is limited. Knowing the location requires a bit of earlier travel coordination, we kindly ask that you RSVP as soon as possible, but no later than July 1st, 2024. We hope you understand, but if we have not received a response from you by this date, we will be offering your seat to another guest.
If you have dietary restrictions, we ask that you please RSVP early. We will do our best to accommodate your food preferences, but late RSVPs may impact our options.
If for any reason your RSVP needs to change after you've already confirmed "attending", please let us know as soon as possible, and update your RSVP to "declined" so that we can plan accordingly.
We appreciate your understanding that we are unable to accommodate +1s. We are having a small intimate wedding with our closest friends and family. Due to our limited guest count, we are asking that only individuals formally named on the invite be present.
Similarly, please understand that because this is a private event, we cannot allow substitutions on the invite list. So if two of you are addressed on the invite, but only one of you can make it, we kindly ask that you only RSVP for whomever will be joining us.
We will have a strict guest list, so any names not explicitly RSVP'd by 7/1/24 will be turned away at entry.
While we love your whole family, we hope you understand our decision to make this an adults only affair. We hope you take this opportunity to let your hair down and have some kid-free fun! Please note that a few exceptions have been made for our flower girl and ring bearer. We appreciate your understanding.
The main event will take place at The Lost Whale Inn, located in Trinidad, California. Please see our "festivities" page for additional info.
While part of the reception will take place indoors, the majority of the event will be outside, so please dress accordingly.
Most of the event will be outdoors. In the event of rain, there will be an outdoor tent for the dinner portion. Dancing will be partially outdoors, but end indoors.
The Ceremony will begin promptly at 3pm, and we kindly request that everyone be settled in their seats shortly before it begins. The reception will end at 10:00pm.
We have TWO room block options. See 'Travel & Accommodations' page for more details and links.
There will be on-site parking for the guests staying at the Inn, with overflow for those traveling far. For those who are not, we recommend carpooling (we can help arrange group rides prior to the event if you contact us in advance).
Please note that Uber / Lyft are not reliable modes of transportation in the area because cars are VERY limited. If you are relying on one of these ride share services, we recommend planning to request your ride in advance.
At this time it's not looking like we will have a shuttle option, so please plan for other transportation. If you are local and have offers on designated drivers for pick up and drop off post-event, please reach out to Jason or Christine because we'd love to help as many of our guests get home safely as possible.
We will have options available for Vegan/Vegetarian. While the exact menu is still TBD, we ask that you please list any dietary restrictions in your RSVP, and that you send us your preferences as early as possible. We will do our best to accommodate, but late RSVPs may impact our options.
Dress Code: Festive Formal / Garden Party / Cocktail
Men: Suit, tie, dress shoes
Women: Dress (floor length, midi, or cocktail) or formal pant-suit
Event Colors:
Vibe: Think boho / fall garden / foggy forests / coastal sunset / wildflowers
If you're looking for inspiration, I've created a Pinterest board here, but we invite you to wear what you feel best in, and have fun dressing up for the occasion.
*It will likely get chilly, so prepare layers
*The property is slightly sloped and grassy, so wear lawn-friendly shoes
Late Summer / early Fall tends to see the best weather in the area, but the Pacific Northwest can be unpredictable. We recommend that you pack layers and prepare for different scenarios.
Weather in Northern California can vary, but anywhere Redwoods thrive is characteristically foggy, so we recommend packing in layers. The area itself is pretty casual, so we suggest bringing comfortable clothes and shoes that will help you to enjoy the outdoors. Take a look at our 'Local Suggestions' page ahead of time and see if any of those activities interest you. If so, maybe bring hiking / water proof boots, etc. For the beach, think less bikini weather and more coastal adventure wear.
If you plan to attend the celebration on Saturday for our wider group of local friends, make sure you have a coat that will keep you warm at night. For that event, we invite you to come as yourself and dress festive if that aligns with you.
We ask that you try to refrain from taking pictures or video during the ceremony, as we want you to be present with us.
Outside of the ceremony, we welcome you to take photos, as long as you aren't interfering with the event photographers.
Before you post anything online of any guests outside of Jason or I, please make sure you ask their permission.
We will be providing complimentary beer, wine, and a few signature cocktails. While the bar will be covered, cash tips for the bartender are welcome and appreciated.
Please reach out to Jason or Christine with any questions.
